Danny was raised in South Shore, KY. He is the son of Roy Bentley, a retired railroader, and Avanell Hunt of Sunshine, KY. While at McKell High School, he played on the NEKC, District II, Region IV Championship football team and the American Legion Baseball team with Don Gullett. After graduating from McKell in 1968, he attended Eastern Kentucky University studying pre-pharmacy where he met his wife Cheri Parard. He continued onto the University of Kentucky earning his BS and Doctor of Pharmacy.

He worked for Revco for 20 years before Danny and Cheri opened their own independent pharmacy, Bentley Rxpress. While operating a successful pharmacy, Danny also began teaching at the Ohio University Southern Campus. In addition to his expertise as a healthcare practitioner, small business owner, job creator, and distinguished educator, Danny has also served as president of a state pharmacy association and the rotary club.

Danny and Cheri have been married 45 years. They are the proud parents of two daughters (Erin Ramey, Esquire, and Mica Bentley, CCRN / NP) and three grandsons (Anthony, William Ramey, and Jackson). Erin works for USO as Pacific Regional Operations Manager. Danny is a deacon and trustee at First Baptist Church in Russell, KY where they have resided the past 21 years. Danny is the third generation of Bentleys to call Greenup County home.

He is running for this position answering a call to service and concern for the future of our community. Dan is a firm believer in this country’s founding ideals: individual liberty, limited government, and constitutional principles.
